Reform of Government and Cooperation among Capitals in Southeast Europe


Conference - Reform of Government and Cooperation among Capitals in Southeast Europe will be held from 17-18 April 2007 in Belgrade. The Conference is organized by the Association of Multiethnic Cities of Southeast Europe PHILIA in cooperation with the City of Belgrade. The main goal of the Conference is to facilitate exchange of experience in reforms of city administration in accordance with transitional processes, as well as to help define relationship between public and private sectors in work of utility organizations important for the normal functioning of a city. Within that framework, the following subjects will be addressed :

  • REFORMS OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, DEVELOPMENT PLANS AND POSSIBILITIES FOR COOPERATION AMONG CAPITALS
  • EXPERIENCES OF PRIVATIZATION AND PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS
  • INSTITUTIONAL REFORMS IN THE REGION AND THE ROLE OF CAPITALS

Mayors of the following capitals are expected to participate in the conference: Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tirana, Sofia, Bucharest and Budapest.
